The city of the largehearted: Polluted Delhi

Image result for delhi pollution before and after

Delhi, a city of the extras.. or more aptly, the excessive.

The extra loud weddings-excess money, the extra cars- excess traffic, the extra love- excess hate, the extra food- excess waste...

All this.. nothing makes sense.

The only clear thing in Delhi? - Nothing.

Why, you may ask?
I, for once, doubted that my eyesight is going to dogs, getting weakened due to my incessant Netflix addiction
but
the catch it...
It's not that- but the city's air, filled to its brink with particulate matter, now only overflowing.

Haze. Every color appears faded.
Vibrant Delhi? A thing of the past.
Health. Cough, cold, pain, tiredness, lethargy- the symptoms.
Pollution- the new tobacco.

I wish we had the Arabian sea as our savior, like Mumbai does.
or better neighbors unlike Punjab and Haryana- burning stubble-
OR really, better CITIZENS.

Who am I to blame others?
A person who used to look at pollution masks last year thinking- what stupid new fad this is?
to a person this year, contemplating, buying one for myself.

I for one get really saddened by the rate at which our Earth is receding from nature to disaster but what do I do?    Nothing.

I think- what CAN I really do? Tell me? One person? Will it make a difference?
In the tens of billions of tonnes of garbage, will my plastic cup add a mountain more to it or will my straw be the "last straw"?

It frankly, doesn't seem much. One may give me all the calculations and approximations of the pollution and waste I, as a person, might generate and state a fact like how one of my chappal might have landed in the deepest trenches of the world (I hope the mantle gobbles it up)..

but I am looking for a sustainable solution. A sustainable large scale solution.
I am tired of "doing my bit for the world" when others don't care at all. (I CARE, I DO!!!)

Because while I am here being selfless, using a mentrual cup for pads, using cloth bags for plastic, walking instead of using the car... I KNOW, someone else there is doing the exact opposite x 10000.

Ok, this is officially a rant. My perspective, usually positive, is plummeting below the zero line... SEE!!! this pollution has taken over my mind!!!!

Well, on a serious note now,

I am looking for large scale solutions, that we all follow, that we all can contribute to.
I ll try and lead the movement if I find one, but I would gladly follow someone else with the key to solve this menace.

Hothouse earth? You need any evidence? Visit Delhi.
Piling garbage?  Ghazipur- Delhi
Pollution-------- DELHI

I feel deep deep sorrow, almost lost all hope.
If this is the case for our generation, then what will happen to my to-be-born-in-6-years children and consequently my grandchildren?
I wish I find some solution, I wish SOMEONE does.
Something practical, but revolutionary.

I have had enough of Delhi- and if "pyaar ye tera- is dilli ki sardi" I want none of the pollution laden love, no thank you.
